Howdy!

As a child I grew up in a “christian” family, I attended a traditional baptist church but I was still uncertain what it meant to “know God” and to have a personal relationship with Him. Starting in middle school I desperately looked to have companionship through relationships and other temporary things of this world that ultimately left me disappointed or hurt . Rather than focusing on my family and school work, gaining social acceptance through the number of relationships I had seemed more important at that time.

It wasn’t until high school when a few of my girlfriends asked me to attend a youth retreat their church had been planning for the summer. It was at this retreat where I realized and understood who Jesus was and why God had sent His son to die for us on the cross. From that point on I wanted to walk pleasing to the Lord and had a desire to learn more about Him. In college I was approached by a staff member of campus crusade who later shared what the gospel was and how I had a personal decision to let God be in control of my life. Again I was aw struck of how God works and how amazing it would be to live according to Hid purpose.

Growing in my relationship with the Lord has helped me in loving others and having a new perspective on God’s goodness and faithfulness. Nothing in this world can replace the satisfying, unconditional and joyous love that God promises us each day and knowing that God uses imperfect people like me to bring about the glory of His kingdom is even more amazing!
